Breda, the town in southern Netherlands, is really a beautiful place. You can easily get there by car or train – it is 50 km far from Rotterdam and very close to nothern part of Belgium.
Even if the Netherlands is quite a small country, there are many worth places to see (not just Amsterdam). If you have at least a day, you should include Breda into your travel plans.
TOP 3 things what I like about Breda
- Park Valkenberg & River Aa- This is very popular place in Breda, where locals meet friends, do picnics, sports, read or simply relax and enjoy their time. The view to canals of River Aa is very romantic and popular for boat trips.
- City Center of Breda – Breda with something less than 200 000 inhabitans is a vibrant town with full of energy. There are young people because of University of Breda, many music lovers & clubs – did you know that world famous DJ Tiesto was born in Breda? 🙂 Even if in Breda are many people during the day, you still have feeling that the town is quite empty and Breda is just yours!
- Food, beer, ice-cream & coffee – they were perfect & delicious! TIP: Have some good Duth beer (my favorite is Hoegaarden) and some fresh salad with salomon – yummy! Then enjoy ice-cream in front of the gotic catedral Grote Kerk Breda. At the end, have some good coffee in the center of Breda – Kerkplein & enjoy the view to the city center.
