I know you love traveling & you want to share your experience. I interview people who love to explore new cultures, places, people and local food.
The 5 W’s and HOW Interview will give you tips about wonderful places of the World. This would be about New Zealand.
WHY you selected New Zealand?
It has been my dream since I was 13. All my projects during geography were about New Zealand. I did not want to wait until I would go there for my honeymoon. And now I am here.
WHEN you visited New Zealand?
I have been here since January 2014 for Supplementary Seasonal Employment (SSE) for 7 months. I am looking forward to this summer in New Zealand.
WHERE to go – the best places to see, things to do, the best experience?
There are so many nice places to see! I have been traveling mostly in South island, the best places are: Milford Sound, Catlins, Fiordland, Fox Glacier, Franz Josef Glacier, Mt Cook, Pancake Rocks, Otago Peninsula and on the North island: Rotorua.
WHO the local people are? Did they surprise you?
Kiwi are very friendly and helpful. I was surprised with combination of food – firstly toast with spaghetti or French fries, and on the top with butter, of course. They eat all toasts with butter or sweet biscuits with baked cheese on the top. Crazy combination! But we have accommodated to it quickly 🙂
WHAT you have learned from that travel experience you had?
I can overcome myself everyday in everything. I have learned many things here and without making excuses.
How about any recommendations and tips before traveling to New Zealand? For what we should prepare, or beware of? Any useful New Zealand tips?
To get to New Zealand it’s not easy as the quota & conditions for getting visa are strict (for Slovak citizens). Do not expect the job. We did a lot to get any, but it does not work out for everybody. Getting there as a tourist is easier. And one more tip: read as many pages as possible about New Zealand before going there, especially about the immigration policies.
