Bran Castle in Romania -

I am sure you have heard many legends about Dracula and about Bran castle somewhere in Romania.

I visited Bran castle as part of my November’s adventure in Transylvania, the famous and most visited part of Romania.

I will not write about the history of castle you can visit the website: http://www.bran-castle.com/. But I will focus on things that might be interested for you from my personal experience.

These are my impressions:

The place is very romantic, not scary at all
Locals live poor, simple life, for example: they use horses as a transportation
Many local sell handmade staff on the way to Bran castle. Old ladies sell very comfy socks they knit
Locals will urge you to buy anything from them. It is not that bad as in Asia, but get ready for it
There were cold weather early November; we had -9 degrees during the day. Get properly dressed up & stay warm
There is very cheap & yummy food even you are in touristy place. The soup cost in 2011 around 1€, pálinka, the traditional fruit brandy in Romania around 0,5€.
There are plenty of tourists even during winter time, but still this place has its own charm. Look at my photos below and make your own opinion
