Spring is here, but you can’t wait summer? Visit Sicily and enjoy it! Summer is already there. Daily temperatures are around 28 degrees, and during night temperatures do not fall below 15 degrees.

Last year I spent a few weeks in Sicily. I received scholarship from Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava and I went to improve my level of Italian. During free time from the school Federico II, I was traveling as much as I could.

I visited many places during my stay in Sicily. Here is my list of 10 best beaches in Sicily!

10.) Siracusa

One of UNESCO heritage site does have beach in old town, Ortigia. More than beach you will enjoy boat trip around Siracusa or the ancient sights

9.) Catania – La Playa

This is the best beach for party & finding new friends in Sicily! Even it is not really clean, but definitely there is more fun!

8.) Giardini Naxos

Next to Letojanni is one of the most popular places in Sicily – Giardini Naxos. The access to water is more difficult. The beach is more crowded during summer

7.) Letojanni

This beach reminds me rocky beaches of Croatia. Long cost with crystal clear water gives opportunities to relax. Water is deep and refreshing, ideal for warm days in Sicily

6.) Aci Castello

Small town close to Catania offers rocky coast with the castle. It is difficult to lying on the rocks, but the scenery of Aci Castello is charming

5.) Acitrezza

Next to town Aci Castello you may find beautiful town Acitrezza. Dominant of Acitrezza are Isole dei Ciclopi (Islands of Cyclopes) and big rocky heart in front of them. The beach is full of small rocks, but access to sea is much easier comparing to Aci Castello (look above to number 6)

4.) Trapani

The biggest town on western coast of Sicily offers sandy beach. In addition, port of Trapani gives stunning view to opposite Egadi Islands

3.) Catania – black sandy & rocky beach

This beach is the most beautiful in Catania, the second biggest city in Sicily. It is rocky beach with black sand, more clean and quiet than the Playa in Catania

2.) Isola Bella in Taormina

This is paradise! Little island in Taormina, the most expensive place in Sicily! You can either walk to Isola Bella or use funicular. Isola Bella offers stunning views

1.) Lido di Noto

This is the best beach I have seen not only in Sicily, but also in entire Italy! Noto is a small town with a beautiful historical center, which is also signed as a UNESCO heritage. While enjoying beauty of the town, you should not miss Lido di Noto, the beach, which is located outside of the town. Take the bus, or taxi (which cost 20 Euros both way), and you will not regret this choice for sure 🙂

IMPORTANT NOTE: The season had not started. During May the beaches are not crowded at all, so you could enjoy beach time to the max 🙂 Go to Sicily NOW, as temperatures during summer are extremely high and the top season is over, you will enjoy it like me in May!  Buon viaggio!
